Wearing Heels Again?

I know I'm jumping the gun by asking this question, but when is it safe to wear heels again?
I'm so ready to bring sexy back!

Re: Wearing Heels Again?

I went back to work on day 13 by choice - couldn't take the sitting around one more minute! I am 8 1/2 weeks post op LAVH/bladder sling -- I wore heels early on - probably shouldn't have but I did. I think you will find if you are on your feet a lot, your feet will swell as mine did. I can always tell if I overdo things - still today!! Ain't nothing wrong with a girl trying to look good!!

Re: Wearing Heels Again?

I didn't wear heels until almost 12 weeks. It felt nice to wear them but my feet did swell and my legs hurt. but it was a good kind of hurt.

My advice, wear your heels but take an extra pair of very comfy shoes with you. I've had to do that several times.

Good luck

Re: Wearing Heels Again?

I'm 6 weeks post op tomorrow and had to go to a funeral today. Don't laugh, but in heels and black sweat pants.
I guess I thought, the heels would let the pants look better ;-)

Re: Wearing Heels Again?

@ Housito: Whatever makes you comfortable. I have a mental picture, I'd sure like to see a real one.. LOL

I went to a funeral 2 weeks post-op (my uncle passed from a massive heart attack). I wore a maternity black dress, maternity tights, and flats. I used the funeral home's wheelchair to get around. I didn't want to be standing or sitting on an uncomfortable chair for who knows how long.

I haven't worn heels in almost a month.:grr

Re: Wearing Heels Again?

Add to me the heel group... I went to the castle with heels .... and went home in heels. Mind you, they weren't sky high, only 3 inches high but enough for my daughter to comment: "Only you mom, would wear heels four days after surgery!" as she was rolling her eyes. I even walked around a department store in them while waiting for my prescriptions to be filled at the pharmacy. No issues for me, thankfully!

PS. Reason for wearing heels was that the very carefully selected pair of pants, in case of swelly belly, were too long for flats.

Re: Wearing Heels Again?

You go Danni3ll3....I had my outfit all picked out for my castle day a wrap dress with heels hair done, manicure and pedicure no polish and DH thought I was crazy and went out and brought me a jogging suit (ugly too) and Uggs(I can't stand those boots)

My motto has always been "When you look good you feel good!"

Re: Wearing Heels Again?

I could not wear heels for eight weeks. All my work pants drag on the floor and I had to cinch them up with a belt (I lost a bit of weight after surgery as well). I tried heels a few times before that and it really aggravated my tummy.

Re: Wearing Heels Again?

I wore heels today, 10months after my surgery and my back and feet is hurting. I guess I may have to wait a few more weeks. I may just slowly get back into them.
