Pre-op injuries

Do I need to report any kind of injuries to my doc at my pre-op checkup 6/2? I got a small piece of glass stuck in my foot today. It bled a lot and I cleaned it out well with peroxide so I don't think it'll get infected. I'm just wondering if I should mention it anyway. I really don't want to have my surgery rescheduled, though. This makes me so mad because I managed not to get injured while moving and then this happens afterward, in the only room I didn't vacuum (basement back room).

Re: Pre-op injuries

I think you're probably going to be just fine. Clean it well with an antiseptic cleanser and dab some antibiotic ointment on it and cover it up. I'd stay away from emerg if it's stopped bleeding now. You don't want to catch anything there right now... Best wishes and take care of yourself!

Re: Pre-op injuries

It shouldn't make a difference for your surgery. The only things I know of, health wise, that can affect your surgery would be colds, flu, lung or
Sinus issues, fevers, etc. Even then my dr said it would have to be pretty bad to affect it.

Re: Pre-op injuries

I am with everybody else. I don't think they asked if I had any recent injuries. They mainly were concerned with your breathing due to be putting you under.
