50% chance of ridding pain?

I met with my Dr. yesterday for pre-op. I have a good bit of bowel problems/symtoms that are often present with pelvic pain, though not always. I also have the lower back and hip pain. Dr. said that there is a 50% chance of helping the back and hip pain and that it may be related to something else. Not sure about the bowel symtoms. My surgery is tomorrow. The orthopedic Dr. said that he thinks that it is "female related". Most of you all say you experience back and hip pain. I cannot imagine coming out of surgery with the same amount of pain. Any thoughts? Thanks,

50% chance of ridding pain?

Hi Ruth, Surgery does seem to have got rid of my pain in the bowels, hips and bladder, I suffered from bad constipation and it stopped the day after surgery I became regular as clockwork, saying this I didn't have any expectations with these things being resolved with surgery so I wouldn't have been disappointed if they hadn't been rectified. Goodluck with your surgery, wishing you a speedy recovery and relief of your pain.

50% chance of ridding pain?

Hey. Hope this is good news for you. I've got endo and several pelvic cysts and it's got my bladder and bowel all in a knot, so I'm having problems going pee and poo. Also I have severe back pain at times and my dr said that once I have the hyst, after the recovery period most of that should go away.
He said that it's all related to the nerves and muscles that are right now all bound up and going places my organs ought not be going. So I am very much looking forward to getting rid of that pain.
I hope that all goes well with your surgery and you have a speedy recovery. Let us know how it's going once you feel up to it and remember to rest!
Best wishes,
Tammy
