LSH: Surgery scheduled for July.I'm happy

My surgery is scheduled for 07-16-13. While it seems like July is an eternity away I'm still tickled pink. I've had problems since I started my cycles.
Is it crazy that I am so happy about it ? I will be in pain and miss weeks of work but I feel like throwing a bon voyage party for my uterus.

I think just nailing down that all-important date and finally being able to make some plans around it is a big relief. When I saw my gyn onc on April 9, all he would say was that the operation would not be in April and that the hospital would call me in 2-3 weeks with a date.

I work in income tax preparation and the season here ends April 30, so I was more or less expecting to have to jump right from tax season into a hysterectomy!

What actually happened was that the hospital called about ten days later with a date: May 29. I was absolutely delighted because now I have a chance to de-stress from tax season, give the apartment a good scrub, stock up on groceries, wean myself off my tax-season caffeine consumption levels, etc.

And the weather's usually lovely in June and July here. I'm visualizing myself curled up with my cats in the sun, all of us napping together.
