Surgery soon

Well I got a paper from my insurance company saying that they will only preaprrove 1 day of stay at the hositpal, which is just not gonna happen. With every surgery I have ever had I always end up staying longer, I just dont recover as well as most.

I have my pre-op on monday, I have a page and half of questions to ask he dr. I have gotten all my stuff together for the surgery.I also find out exactly what type of hyst he will be doing, I do know that he will be removing everything but I dont now how he plans on doing this.

I am so nervous about this I kow that it is needed so we shall be trying to keep me busy busy so that i do not let my mind wonder.

Keep busy, try not to think about it (yeah, right) - the nerves are to be expected. I think it's a great idea to write down any questions and learn as much ahead of time, that should help ease your anxiety. I tried to focus on having everything planned for after (library books, videos, etc). And try not to stress over the insurance - maybe you will be pleasantly surprised at your recovery. Attitude is key. I had my TAH last Tuesday, I've had several other operations and I am honestly surprised that I'm not having more pain and that I'm getting around as well as I am. Every surgery is different! Just focus on getting better, all will be well!

I was preapproved for a 2 day stay for my tah/bso. I had a few problems and ended up staying a couple of days longer. The insurance covered it - no problem. If you need to stay longer, your dr should be able to explain the reasons to your insurance so that you'll be covered
