Where do I put my patch

Hello: I am due for my TLH on March 20, 2014. I am wondering where do I put my patch. I alternate wearing it on either side of my stomach but since I am having my tubes removed, I imagine I am going to have incisions on both sides of my stomach. I guess I should have asked my doctor or the nurse, but it slipped my mind. Should I just keep it in place and have the pre-op nurse move it? I'm afraid the nurse might just take it off and throw it away. Or should I put it on my butt the morning of my surgery. I'm afraid it will slip my mind the day of my surgery since I am pretty apprehensive and nervous about it all.

Thank you to anyone who can answer my question.

Joanne

Re: Where do I put my patch

My surgeon told me to change the patch from abdomen to the butt before surgery. Hoping you have a speedy recovery. HUGS!

Re: Where do I put my patch

I'm not sure what kind of patch you're referencing. I would go with whatever the doctor told you though.

Re: Where do I put my patch

Put it on your butt. This is what I did when I had surgery on my ureter. The patches can be hard to see. And they don't usually stick well if you try to move them.
