ate a lot of sugar before pre-op this morning

i have not been eating well for the past few weeks awaiting my surgery... i have been very nervous...

anyway this morning i had a pastry fan from Publix... it is two flaky pastry layers filled with buttercream icing and dipped in chocolate... and i had some dried mango with sugar added ( i have been looking for it without sugar but no luck yet)

anyways then i went for my pre-op.. i had been told i didn't have to fast... so i obviously didn't...but now i am worried that my blood sugar will be high.. if it is high..will they not do the surgery??? oh please tell me that they will still do it

it was stupid to eat that way this morning.... i know it.....

oh and i found out i have to be at the hospital Monday at 5:15 am instead of 6

which is fine with me because between starving and the bowel prep..i won't be sleeping a lot anyway......

oh well i can't change this morning at this point... probably what they would do is make me fast and re-do it......

right?

anyway..any info is appreciated and hugs and support too!

just five more days...!

oh and my birthday is tomorrow...so i am eating poorly again! we ordered an ice cream cake from Publix....

I admit that I'm a Publix pastry lover, too.

I hope what you ate will have no affect on any of the tests you did or your upcoming surgery.

my blood sugar was actually 74..... weird huh? that is a little on the low side... i thought it'd be through the roof!

what kind of cake are you having...? mine is chocolate cake with vanilla frosting and coffee ice cream.... (from Publix of course!)

i'll be 40 for my surgery but my tags will all say "39" since that is how old i was at pre-op...lol....... so see...even the medical profession is telling me "its okay to stay 39!"
