OH Shelley!! I so SYMPATHIZE with you! Not only did I have feelings that something was caught in my throat, but sometimes when I was eating, it seemed my throat forgot how to swallow! I choked several times.
And the shaky insides - girl, I KNOW what you're saying! Even when I tried to sit still, I would involuntarily rock from side to side, because my insides were going 90 mph.
Another symptom I didn't mention earlier: I didn't have a period for 9 months. So I thought all of this was menopause. When I finally was put on medication, my periods came back 10fold. I've since learned that when I'm hyper they're lighter; when I'm hypo they're heavier. (although I never have to worry about that again since TAH!)
Another thing to look at: Your hair, skin and nails. My hair thinned out to the point that I stopped up the drain in the shower every day. It became dry and brittle. My skin was really dry, and my nails broke easily. But when I'm hypo, my hair is very soft, my nails are soft and pliable, and my skin isn't dry.
Once I had the RAI to kill the thyroid and went on synthroid, these symptoms changed. I still notice hair and nail changes if my doses are off, but the other symptoms aren't as strong.
I URGE YOU TO PLEASE HAVE YOUR TSH LEVELS CHECKED.
I don't want to scare you before you know for sure, but being too hyper for too long can have fatal results. I came very close to a "thyroid storm", which causes cardiac arrest.
Have your Dr refer you to an endocrinologist if you can.
Write down everything you are feeling. I kept a "health journal" for a long time.
Please let me know what you find out. I feel for anyone having that problem. I am praying for you and will be looking for more posts from you.
Love and hugs,
