Surgery rescheduled and weight

My surgery has been rescheduled for Oct 14th. My doctor has to go out of town. Anyway, I was wondering about weight gain or loss after surgery. What has been anyones experience with this?? I joined weight watchers a little over a month ago and have lost 12 pounds. Now I find I have to have this surgery! I have heard several say they lost weight. I know it will probably take several weeks to get back to my "before surgery" weight. (fluid and bloating etc). I am having my ovaries out also. I also heard it takes several tries before you find an HRT that works for you. I dread that! I have had hot flashes and they are not fun!

Thanks everyone! [size=3][color=darkred]

Surgery rescheduled and weight

Hi...I had my total hyst. last June. I'll try to answer your questions...First....I lost about 12 pounds while I was recovering from my hyst....only because I had no appetite. Once I started eating again...(like I normally eat)...I gained it all back! So...I am back at my starting weight...which is too much! Once all these hurricanes pass us here in Florida..I'll work on that! Second...I was given Estrace 2 mg. right after surgery and have been doing wonderfully on it! I have had NO menopausal symptoms at all! I hope it continues this way forever! I am one of the very lucky girls that did great on the first HRT I was given. And...Estrace is bio-identical, so I am happy about that too. Hope that answered a few of your questions. if not...I'l be happy to write back to you! Good Luck!

Surgery rescheduled and weight

Hi Eternity, As of my 7week visit with my dr, I lost 10lbs. I lost another 5 right after surgery but i put it back on. My appetite has completely changed. I can't even look at some foods i used to eat.
My portions are half what they used to. I get full fast Now i have to go for a bone scan, because my dr say's i'm too thin. It seems to me they are never happy, too fat, too thin.
