Horrible thought.....

Ok...I know I'm probably being ridiculuos, but humor me please. I had a terrible thought this morning as I was attempting to get out of bed....what if my surgery doesn't stop this horrible back pain??!!!! I know I won't regret bidding goodbye to aunt flo, but the one important reason I'm having this done is to rid myself of a fibroid....dr assumes this is the cause of my pain due to it's position, but he's always told me there are no guarantees.Hhhmmm...NO GUARANTEES?? That part just hit me!! I would like to know if there are any post-op ladies out there who still had pain after it was all said and done? If so, WHAT NEXT?

Horrible thought.....

Funny thing,,,today on my way to work I thought "what if I am still in pain, what if this surgery does not fix it, CAN it fix it?"
Wonder if that is just our preop jitters finding another way to attack us...

Decide that your number one job Post Op is your healing. The physical part will require your emotional healing as well.

I have the exact same ? as you but have decided I will not dwell on that now. Endo was found in my surgery and due to its location, it was left. I have to discuss this further with my Dr on Monday (2 week).

I think most with remaining pain will say (at least I hope) its less or marginal. I figure, I will potentially have to deal with that down the road but have put it out of my mind now.

Wishing you a positive surgery and peaceful recovery.

Julie

I am sitting here with a bad backache as I write. Mine is due to a cancerous tumor in my uterus..or so we hope that is the main cause. Whether the back pain is cured or not, I will still be glad that this slow-growing cancer is gone! I have high hopes though that the backaches will be gone too...as I never have had backaches before the tumor! And I know I haven't strained my back so many times...LOL

It's good to know maybe I'm not so ridiculous after all for asking this question. Laughnow- I'm hoping you get the answers you're searching for about your surgery and your pain is considerably less than it was before. Starlight, I'm so sorry you are having to face cancer! I can't even begin to imagine what that would be like, just know that you are definitely in my prayers. I, too, had no pain until a few months before my fibroid was dx and I really don't think I've "pulled" something..lol...CindyGrinz, it's comforting to know I'm not the only one freaking out....maybe it IS just pre-op jitters....I'm hoping so for both our sakes!! I'm wishing all of us a happy and speedy recovery!

I was thinking the same thing! What if I go through all of this and the pain remains. Well at least no more periods or cramps! Danielle
