Ablation after menopause

Hi I am new here. So much good information. I saw that the site says that ablation is NOT recommended for someone after menopause, but why? My doctor is recommending this for my fibroid. I have bloating, bleeding and some pain. My fibroid is a small one, but I just don't like bleeding at all.

Re: Ablation after menopause

Fibroids can be in the wall of your uterus, ablation just takes care of the lining of uterus. An ultrasound picked up only one in me, but after the hyst the path report showed many. Just a thought. Do you have adenomyosis ? I was told that ablation wouldn't work because of my adenomyosis, ( endo of the uterus ) . Fibroids are classified by where they occur. Might ask some more questions. Sometimes ablation helps w bleeding but not pain/ cramping.adeno causes pain, bloating , bleeding and cramping. Sometimes drs say fibroids can get better after menopause. But sometimes they don't. After menopause sometimes tissues thin. Maybe some more questions for your Dr?
