Anyone out there in spud-ville?

no don't do a tummy tuck with a TVH I only did it because i was already getting my gut cut open! would never go through a gut cut like that again unless needed! the first week is very important to have help my friend came to be with me from Belfast Ireland and oh gosh she got the kids up every morning and set them off to school I was up but not wanting to be the second week I did have more energy to get up and get then off to school (OH BY THE WAY WE HAVE YEAR ROUND SCHOOL SO THIS IS THERE LAST WEEK OF SCHOOL. I AM AT 5 WEEKS RECOVERY TODAY AND FEELING GREAT) so for you ladies that can wait for school to begin that is the best.

Anyone out there in spud-ville?

So, I am back from the hospital and finally able to write for a minute. I just wanted to let everyone know that I did write on the inside of my legs "If it ain't broke...don't fix it!" I went over very well with the hospital staff!

Hi Adrienne.

How are you feeling?

I had my surgery 4 weeks ago, (hysterectomy w/ a&p repairs) and I'm starting to feel somewhat normal. The day I got rid of the catheter was a *great* day! Be patient with your recovery. I was a little optimistic~when my doctor said at least 6 weeks, I thought it would be like having a baby~I thought i'd feel pretty good after 4 weeks. It's been a little slower than that for me. Maybe because I had such a bad reaction to the demerol in my i.v. right after my surgery. I think it might have slowed me down a little.

Take care!

Anyone out there in spud-ville?

Been a little out of the loop. I am about nine weeks post-op and doing quite well. Surgery was miserable and took 4 1/2 hours. I couldn't walk for three days because my muscles were traumatized from being back in the stirups for so long. I waddled for almost an entire month. Sex is different...a little tender but everything "feels like old times". The only thing I am really struggling with right now is that I had become pregnant at the first of the year and would have been due this past week. What a turn around, eh? I don't regret my decision, it just feels strange sometimes. Well, I hope everyone is well. Hugs to all!

Anyone out there in spud-ville?

hi crazynoodle2,

greetings from rupert! i lvoe your name! i'm sure things will go well for you. i'm 7 weeks out, and i feel really good. be patient with your recovery, it really does take 6 weeks if you have vaginal hysterectomy, more if your surgery is going to be abdominal. the only difference i can see with me is i don't have as much stamina yet. i'm sure it's temporary and it will get better as i exercise more. it's a small price to pay for the benefits.

good luck!

Anyone out there in spud-ville?

Thanks annebelle, I am in Twin (Buhl actually). Yes it is a small price to pay, I just hope I recover quickly. I have a 2 year old and an 8 year old and my husband works nights, so I spend all my time bending here, lifting there, pulling this and pushing that so I am very nervous about recovery. My mom will be up for a week to help out. But after that I am mostly on my own. I started just paying attention to how much I actually to bend and lift and OMG, I can't believe it.
Anyhow, thanks for your response. Glad to hear your recover is moving right along.
