Thanks

Thanks for the welcome and the insights. I'm an elem teacher that doesn't sit down much during the day so I'm guessing I better look to schedule my surgery right before Christmas break to give myself some time to heal. I'm still researching all my options since I don't have a lot of symptoms -yet- even tho my uterus is so large. Glad to hear your recovery is going well Hawkeye gal.

Welcome to the site where you will find great info and support. I had a TVH and cystocele repair Aug. 28. I had the hyst. because of a prolapsed uterus which might eventually cause the cystocele repair to fail. The first two days after my surgery were kind of rough (reaction to the morphine I think), but recovery since then has been faster than I expected. Good luck to you. I'm from west central Iowa (between Carroll and Fort Dodge), but am originally from east of Ottumwa.

I am from Sioux City, I had TVH on March 15, 2007.... Surgery and recovery went smoothly. I am feeling great and not having any regrets at all. I feel free!!! I stayed one night at the castle and took 6.5 weeks off work. I am happy to answer and specific questions you have. Best wishes to everyone!

Any Iowans on board?

Hi, I'm from central Iowa, Des Moines to be exact. My surgery was 9-25-07 and what a ride it's been! I was wondering if anyone has had a blood vessel break AFTER the surgery? That's happened to me and it's pretty uncomfortable, I was wonderingif anyone had any ideas to make myself more comfortable. Thanks!

Glad your surgery is behind you. Take care and have patience in the healing process. I'm from Bronson Iowa (small town by Sioux City) and had a TAH on 9/21/7. I'm tired but getting better everyday. I'm 46. I hope you are feeling better. A friend of mine just had a TVH and she is a NEW WOMAN.... I hope I have half the energy she does when I recover. Take Care.
