Diane, Thank you for those words. They are beautiful and truthful. I am glad that you and dh are going to take your life back. You have to keep the relationship going to keep the family going.

Roz, I hope the doctor can help you with your depression. It is good that you recognized the problem and sought help. Let us know what happens.

Sub plans are moving along. I have all of the math done for the quarter and one group of reading done. I decided to take this weekend and do nothing since I worked the extra week at school. I will start Monday on finishing the plans. I want to be able to hand in 10 weeks of plans when we go back to school on the 31st.

Teachers unite!

Hello everyone,
Thanks for all your good wishes. I certainly feel loads better now - must be the rest, change and the mountain air. It's a lush area (the Auvergne mountains) and the autumn colours were wonderful - all shades from last of the greens through golds to real red in some trees. Such a pretty time. As it was getting cooler in the evenings most homes were using the wood burners that smell lovely. Chestnuts, walnuts and apples falling from trees and blackberries in the hedgerows.

We didn't get access to the internet while away, so I've just caught up with the posts. Such a lot has happened in a short time.

Diane I think it's your birthday - may be today now, as it's late over here.

That was a lovely posting and so appropriate.

Cathy you had a very busy birthday indeed, and this week seems to have been just as hectic. You're a real gem looking after others and I'm sure your parents really appreciate what you're doing. Do make sure you have some rest time for yourself as well. Those jobs will wait their turn -although it must be hard as you're so organised.

Donna that's a really big decision to have made, but I'm sure you'll be feeling at peace. Hugs and prayers coming your way.

Sarah I have a friend with IBS. As Cathy says there's a lot of information on the internet - worth finding out? Hope you can get some relief.

Lisa I hope you can get some help for that depression - whatever the cause. It's rotten coming on top of surgery and everything.

Christine you have had a busy time. Thinking of you as you approach another round of surgery. As you say - it takes a lot of time to plan lessons for others.

Cindy, Kathy - hope you're well.
Love to all,

Hello Friends:
I wish they would remind me when a new post comes along. I feel so out of the loop.
Mary - so glad you are back and feeling refreshed. I hope the health is back to normal status.
Lisa - depression is real and can be quite scary. I hope the doctor can provide you with the needed assistance. If you ever need to chat, I am just an email away. I have been there and I understand what you are going through.
Christine - so glad the sub plans are coming along. How have you been feeling lately?
Diane - It is great to hear that you had a fun night out. I tend to be a stay at home gal, and then when I get out, I realize just how fun it can be. I hope the pact you made with DH works and you find many more opportunities for happiness. Thank you for sharing the piece....it is oh so true.
Sarah - I hope you are feeling better these days. Any information from the doctor?
Donna - you sound peaceful...you are moving on to another phase in your life which will encompasse many new and exciting avenues.....sit back and enjoy the ride.
Cindy - hope you are well.
Ladies I am pooped. So much has been happening here at the household and I can't even begin to catch you up. The hurricane did not impact us, however it did give us a much needed day off. I was able to get paperwork done and rest a little. Mom and Dad are going through some good and bad times. My Mom feels torn - my dad wants to get back together...my Mom enjoys her independence...who knows where this will go. Living with my father is sometimes like having a 4 year old in the house. Sometimes it can be trying and other times it can be cherished.
So - lots of love to all!
Take care and rest.

Good Morning,
Well, I too have been out of the loop. I was diagnosed with severe depression at the beginning of the school yr. Depression affected every area of my life. The medicine has helped as has talk therapy. I do not like being away from my children. I have talked with my dr and she has told me I could go back to work in a private setting at a private school where I do not have 800 children and all of the state paper work..and by no means be chairperson of departments. She suggested part time for a while. I do so agree.
I absolutely love teaching and really want to do that.

Cathy, I am glad you are better, Mary I am glad you are rested. Sarah I hope the IBS diagnosis is really what the problem is, Roz I am there so you can email me and we can talk if you would like..Everyone else you are in my thoughts and prayers I am so glad you all are my friends. Take good care I love all of youHUGS Donna

I am feeling better, thanks for the good thoughts. No word from doctor, but with copious amounts of yogurt and positive thinking I am greatly improved. I will pursue the med exam also. I wonder if the broken rib wore me down more than I knew.

Sat weed, Sun plant and tend things you care about.

One of the teachers on my team is headed for a hyst early in December, naturally feeling a bit anxious. She logged onto hystersisters for the first time today and was impressed with the resources. Information and peace of mind from all of you has been a great healer for me.

Diane, thanks for poem and hb.

LIsa, I admire your attitude... so positive when you are going through so much. That takes grit.

Christine, good luck and you do sound prepared and poised.

Cathy, you are now a caregiver as well as so much more. I hope family and colleagues will support you. Take care of yourself as much as you can.

Mary, beautiful about surroundings and time of year... your inspired description lifted me up.

Donna, it would be great if you could find an outlet for your talent. Knowing you, you'll find a way to work something out.

Everyone have a great weekend.

All I can say is that you are such wonderful women and how lucky the children on this earth are to have such fabulous and caring teachers. Again...I must say that I am trying to learn everyone's names (I am horrible at remembering names.....and having over 400 chorus students truly wreaks havoc with my brain!).
I had my first physical therapy session today for my foot/ankle. I wasn't going to go through with it because my after-school schedule is constantly filled; not to mention that I have my 3 sons with me every day after school. Well, when I told my wonderful husband that I wasn't going to go to PT, he called my podiatrist (without me knowing it)....he wanted to talk to her directly to get the details on my need for PT. She was adament in telling him that I needed the PT desperately. So, I took my boys with me today after school and they sat in the waiting area while I had 45 minutes of PT. Yes, I definitely need it and will have to go at least another 4 weeks. I guess we do what we can do and take faith in the fact that God will never give us more than what we can handle.....right?
Here's hoping that you wonderful ladies have a restful weekend and gear up for that wonderful "Halloween Monday".....(ugh).
Thank you for being here for me.
Best wishes to you all.

Hello Friends!
I hope everyone is doing well. I am just thankful that it is the weekend. Of course, it happens to filled with things to do but I am going to work hard to find time for myself.
Roz - please continue to get your PT. Your husband sounds like a jewel. He is just what you need right now...a guardian angel.
Mary - how are things with you? Are you still working constantly?
Donna - perhaps a part-time job is just the ticket. It must be difficult being away from the kids. How about substitute teaching? They are always looking for people to fill in. Then you don't have the paperwork or chairperson responsibilities. Just a thought.
Sarah - yogurt is wonderful. Please continue to pursue this. IBS, as far as I have researched is one of those things that is hard to diagnose. You have to play around with food triggers, etc. to find the plan that works for you. Press on!
I am hanging in there right now. I picked up my sister last Saturday and she will be staying with my Mom for 3 weeks. She doesn't get along with my Dad very well so needless to say, my Mom hasn't been over too much to visit with my Dad. He is doing ok and we seem to have settled into a routine. It can be difficult having an additional person in your home but so far it is working.
Blessings to all!
I love you!

Doc says get a colonoscopy, so I will. White blood cells in the sample. Not scary but something is going on.

Cathy, you are indeed hanging in there. You now seem to be the head of the family--no easy matter to coordinate everybody-- and it sounds like you're doing great.

It's a productive weekend, both days. Everyone have a good one.
