Why the Maternity ward?

Well, like I posted before, it doesn't really bother me. I have 4 healthy children and the thought of more is a thought so terrifying that it makes me tremble with fear. However, for the other people who might be more sensitive to this, I think it should at least be discussed and the needs of the patient accommodated. My only issue was that my doctor was just so matter of fact about it and, although I'm older, I'm only 41 and a lot of my friends are still having children. (((Hugs))) to all on their surgeries.

Why the Maternity ward?

I have 2 children (1 bio, and 1 adopted from China --secondary infertility). I would have had a problem being on the maternity floor too. Even though I have faced and resolved my fertility issues thru adoption, I have found that I have experienced some bouts of depression since my surgery.

I remember being wheeled from the recovery room to my regular room and and I got a little freaked out b/c the sign said it was the cancer wing. I immediately asked, in my drugged state: "Is there something else I should know?" Luckily I didn't have cancer, but it really did scare me and it made me feel uncomfortable.

I was worried about having an annoying roommate (did happen)and would have loved to have my own room (didn't happen). When my 1st roomate requested a fan I requested a new room and got one within about 10 minutes! The care I received was wonderful!
