Pre-op visit today, low residue diet pre and post-op?

Saw my surgeon for pre-op appt today, she recommends a low residue diet pre and post-op. Will need to Google that for sure. It's supposed to decrease gas after surgery. No bowel prep though. She did do a vaginal swab to check for bacteria, I haven't heard anyone else say anything about that. If it's positive I will take antibiotics prior to surgery. And... no sex for 8 weeks! That seems long, but we will do whatever she says. As they say, you only have one chance to heal properly.

I've never heard of anyone else having a *vaginal* swab to check for bacteria either. I had a nasal swab to check for MRSA (Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus) and a rectal swab to check for VRE (Vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus).

So the swab came back positive for yeast, one dose of diflucan and I am good to go
