What's your pets name and why?
I have a laborador/border collie/dalmation mix named BLIZZZARD!
I have no idea why she has her name, we adopted her from the pound and that was her name.
I had to laugh when they told us her name as my husband is a weather forecaster, (Leave it to a weatherman to pick a dog named blizzard! )
Anywho, we speculate she has that name as she is black and white like a DQ oreo blizzard? Or, maybe she was found in a blizzard? (In ohio where we adopted her, no blizzards in Hawaii ). Perhaps because when she's shedding and we brush her the hair creates a blizzard?? Or when she runs really fast she looks like a blizzard??
However she got her name fits I guess. I wish I knew!
We tend to call her Blizzy or Bizzy more then Blizzard anyway.

Dusty (Brittany) -- My sons picked his name.
Scampi (Beagle) -- We adopted her from a rescue group, and that was what her previous family had named her. We liked it, and so we kept it. And I picked her name to use as my username here.
Tipper (cat) -- She has white "tips" on all four paws.
Smudge (cat, recently deceased) -- She was orange but had a little darker spot on her nose that looked like a smudge of dirt.

What's your pets name and why?
our kitten...Lucky - the kids found him out at my mom's the first cold snap and he was by himself in a pile of bricks...lucky i believed my daughter when she came in and said she found a kitten. now it is more like lucky if he survives to go to the vet for the big snip and declaw...he is getting ferocious and my kids look like they have been in a war zone. he got my daughter on the face and nearly got her eye.
our puppy...Rufus - my hubby uses a similar name for a game he plays and the dog kinda looks like a Rufus...now interchangeably used with dufus because he acts like a dufus.

What's your pets name and why?
Fun topic!
Merlin - A blue Italian greyhound. Named for two reasons. One, I figured it had to be a magic spell to get me to adopt another dog, so a wizard's name was appropriate! And two, a merlin is a small falcon, and the male merlin is blue on top.
Luna - For the moon, feminine energy, and short for LunaTIC, because she's insane!
Willow - Because she's small, delicate, willowy, and beautiful. I've always loved the name, and love the movie of the same name.
Sorsha - Tried to call her Willow, but it didn't fit. Sorsha is the name of another character from the movie. The evil sorceress' daughter, who falls in love with Mad Mardigan, and turns to good. Sorsha is a little grumpy.
Gryffin - I'm into fantasy (can you tell?) and Gryffin was the first greyhound I adopted. He's a fabulous, magical dog. He has the strength and courage of a lion, and the beauty and grace of an eagle. So, the gryffin, which combines both animals, seemed appropriate.
I also have two cats, who are staying with a friend while I'm RVing around the country.
Ryan - A red tabby gentleman of 15. It seemed appropriate for a red head to have an Irish name.
Kaley - Her name was Bailey with her former owners. She's a delicate, wedge-headed siamese, and I thought Bailey was too masculine, and reminded me of booze. But her former owner was elderly, and in an old folk's home, so I wanted to keep the name similar, so as not to confuse them.

What's your pets name and why?
we have two cats Buzzbee and Meep . . .
my DH just started calling the first one Buzzbee one day (his name was JP - we adopted him and were going to keep it until he told us otherwise!)
the second one was originally called Doc because he has a little bunny-rabbit face and we would say "What's up, Doc?". Funny thing was, whenever we'd say that, he respond with a "meep" sound - i said to my DH i think he's trying to tell us that his name is Meep!
