Interesting, Jennice. I'm not surprised you had to hunt for a surgeon. I've read that the surgery you had is very innovative. I had to give up my cervix as that is where all the 'bad cells' were.............I know what you mean about the 'cervix helping w/moisture'..............it was pretty dry when it was still there and I'm sure it will be even drier without it. Well, some day/ year/ month I will find out!

Take care. Hope you are resting after your very busy weekend!

I had went onto a different thread to talk about not getting hardly any sleep. Cuz if i was getting around 3 hours of sleep a night i was lucky. Alot of the ladies are taking meletonin, it is 1 tiny pill just before you go to bed at night. And you know what it has been working for me. The past 2 nights i have been sleeping 5-51/2 hrs straight through. And that is amazing for me. And it is only about 5 dollars a bottle for about 100 pills. Thats 100 nights of good sleep for me.

Well girls, I went to my regular family dr for my blood pressure. It had been under control. Its been higher than usual for the last week or so & my angina has been rearing it's ugly head. One reading yesterday after church was 151/101. Bad, bad, bad. Dr said my body is trying to get used to the lack of hormones and the arteries are spasming? (I think I heard that last part right. DS was talking too.) So in addition to the 2 pills I already take for BP, he has added a diuretic. Plus, I also told him my gyn said in March (when he discovered all my other problems, that my cholesterol was 245. So now I'm on cholesterol medicine. And I also have a prescription for nitro when the angina kicks up. I looked at the nurse, held my hands as though weighing and said, "Hmmmm, angina pain or SEVERE headache." She thought that was funny.

Law & Sara,
Please be careful. I know wht kinda surgery u had, sara. I think you had the same thing: LAVH, Law. Just take it easy. I can still feel the right site pulling as we speak. The navel and the left are great. I had a lot of work done on the right side. Lots of problems.

Don't worry Jennice. I called the Dr. office this morning and had them fax over to the school kitchen i work at a script saying light duty only 20lbs and less. The Dr. said he would put down until sept. 10th. Then i guess i'm back in full force again. But i do see him Aug. 17th for a final check. So i will be talking to him then. I would like the note to go at least until end of October. But the boss is real good she already said she wouldn't let me lift anything remotely heavy at all. I don't go back until the 13th anyways still another week to recupe. Thanks jennice for the concern and always having a nice word to say.

2 days from 4 weeks post-op

Everyday I feel like I have more energy. I am walking on the treadmill for 10 minutes at a time a few times a day. I still take milk of mag and a stool softner daily. I am parnanoid about getting constipated again. That was awful!! The only problem I seem to have is I'm not sleeping well at night. For the first 2 weeks I slept great now...well not so good. I really haven't done much except fold some clothes, wash a few dishes and make my breakfast and lunch. My husband and son have been doing everything else. I spend my time reading, crocheting, doing needlepoint, on the computer and watching some tv. I will be glad when I am 6 weeks post-op and back to the drs to find out if I can go back to my normal routine.

aiight girl. I go back next wk myself. I work in the school system too. Central administration, so we go 12 mths. It is slow in the summer though, so I decided to do the surgery now. December would've been good too, since we have 2 wks off for Christmas break. I just couldn't take the pain till then. Turns out, I am glad I didn't. Those cysts on my r ovary were steadily growing, and the periods were getting closer together. Also, I had the adhesions growing and fibroids. My son is home from college and I didn't want to wait.
I am nervous about going back to work since we work 4 10hr days in the summer. It will be vey tiring for me and I have to let my dr. know how long my hrs are.
You are very welcome, Law.

Am I the only one in the group that had a LSH? I feel really good. I mean, my body has being telling me that I haven't had any advil or pain meds in 2 days with little twinges 1-2X a day. My only complaint is that I am tired. Extremely tired. I guess my dad's cookout wore me out. I was out frid/Sat all day. Yesterday took it easy and then went back over in the evening. But no pains, JUST TIRED. Maybe LSHer's recovery a little faster. My glue fell off on the left site last week, but the right is still glued.
Hi Jennice, My surgery was for severe endometriosis, multiple fibroids in the uterus and cysts on the ovaries. I had a TLH--total laparascopic hysterectomy. Overall, i am feeling better but some days are better than others.....chief complaint is feeling tired just like you and just "blah" but minimal pain thank God. I do a lot of tossing and turning at night and i feel the twinges of pain as i move around in my bed. I hope I'm not damaging anything by turning in bed?????? btw I am not taking any hrt.
