Surgery postponed last minute!

OK--I've done the bowel prep (although it hasn't started working yet) and I just got a phone call saying my Dr.'s flight was cancelled and he won't be able to do surgery until 7 p.m. tomorrow night....Ugh! I was scheduled for 10 a.m.

No food for 30 hours (or do the bowel prep again tomorrow), different anesthesioligist, etc. I'm so frazzled right now!

I'm sorry your frazzled! Mine was delayed just because he was running behind. I had started prep 8 am on 7/2, surgery finally happened 7/3 about 3 pm. I wasn't concerned about the food as much as I was the no fluids from midnight on. It works out, and could have been delayed by days rather than hours. Hang in there.

Sorry you got postponed... but look on the bright side. At least your surgery date will be the same!

I remember my report time was 11:00 a.m. and I didn't think I'd ever be able to make it that long... but it was really OK. I was too anxious to eat or drink, anyway.

Yikes! I'm so sorry that you will have to wait now! The plus is that they didn't put it off until another day, but I know you don't want to hear that right now!!!!

The prep started to work. Haven't gone in a couple hours. Wonder if that's it??? Been taking a sleeping pill every night. Not sure that would be wise if the bowels aren't done
