Re: Best Wishes to our March 17 Princesses

Dear Future Princesses:

I'm just stopping by to cheer you all on.

For some of us, the scariest part is waiting for the big day, but we are here to cheer you on, You are stronger than you think - you can and will do this

It really does help to keep busy doing things you enjoy and surrounding yourself with positive friends and family. You are in the home stretch. Staying positive can help reduce stress.

Take care and know you are not alone on your journey:

Soon you will be on your way to recovery and encouraging those in your position now.

Travel light for the hospital and remember comfy clothes and shoes to wear home from the hospital. Also remember a small pillow to wear under your seatbelt for the ride home. Additionally, this pillow will also help cushion the blows of little people and rambunctious pets, coughs, laughing and sneezing. You may also benefit by having several small pillows available for resting in bed. Sometimes, for those of us not used to sleeping on our sides, a long body pillow may prove the most comfortable. Today is a great time to double-check your "recovery nest" to make certain you have the items you need at your fingertips. Getting out of bed can prove a bit challenging at first, so you may want to have a bed rail, or, a sturdy chair or small table to steady you as you get up. Remember those non-slip slippers for marching around the house.

We will be with you on your entire journey, so please be sure to join your Post Recovery Progress Report after your surgery.

See you on the other side - you can and will do this!

Hugs to all - you can and will do this

Best Wishes to our March 17 Princesses

I am starting to freak out. Surgery is tomorrow at 10am. In 24 hours I will be on the operating table. I have never had surgery before except for my tubes being tied a day after having my last child and that was over 15 years ago. I only have 2 hours left of solid food and then the clear liquid diet starts and then my lovely bowel prep. I was nervous before but now I think I'm having a panic attack. There are so many unknowns and I'm a planner type of person. I know I have to have this surgery so there is no backing out. I pray God gives me the strength to keep it together.

Try to think that in 24 hours you will have overcome your fears and will be on your way to recovery and a better life.
You can also ask your doctor and Anethisologist as I did to give you medication that can ease your anxiety.

You have come so far - hang in there. Try to watch favorite movies, read magazines, chat with friends... Do pleasant things to help alleviate your stress.

You are in the home stretch.

You can and will do this.

I will see you on the other side on your Progress Recovery thread
