Nervous about lifting after recovery

scheduled for lash with possible bso enlarged uterus and large fibroid and several uterine polyps nervous about recovery and return to work work in a warehouse where I have to lift 25 to 40lbs everyday would like some experience replies Thanks

I think dear sister to get the answers you need you must explain your job description in detail to your doctor. From my reading threads on this site and from my own surgery, it is considered dangerous to lift heavy things too early in the recovery process. Additionally standing for long periods of time must also be considered.
So perhaps Speak with your doctor to get the most realistic time frame for returning to your work place.

I'm use to carrying 20-30 lbs regularly too and last week (3 weeks out) I tried to stay in my limit of 10 lbs at the grocery store; I was sore for over 24 hours! I'm not lifting for a while more yet.

I can do stairs, walk miles but no lifting.

Do not lift things that heavy !

thanks for all the helpful advice everyone and I will definitely make sure my Dr. knows that my job entails heavy lifting and on my feet all day

So many questions! How important is it to have a binder after the LASH and will the hospital provide it? I am so thankful to have this website to answer my questions, thank you Hystersisters!

I used my binder a few times. Mostly when, early on, when I knew I'd be up for a while. It helped my sore muscles keep things from bulging out. I didn't use it much with a LTH.
