Feeling .. I don't know
I just finished my 4th final and school is out until January. I still have some work stuff I need to clean up before surgery. I want to get all my paperwork in order, will, advanced directive, insurance policies etc. I need to clean my house.
I think the problem is, the schoolwork really occupied my mind quite a bit. Finishing it didn't have anything to do with surgery, it had to do with the quarter ending. Now everything relates to the surgery. I'm feeling a little stressed.
I'm getting ready to go to the store to buy stuff like laxatives and things I'll need after I come home. I don't know if I'm hoping that the next week flies by or that I have lots of time to get everything done.

Re: Feeling .. I don't know
I'm the same way. I was glad to have the holidays and get everything ready for that and our home. Now that things are getting done and my surgery is scheduled for Monday, I'm thinking about the surgery more and more. I find if I'm busy it's better. It's when I sit and think about the whole process that I feel my nerves get crazy. This website is awesome. Whenever I do feel anxious I start reading the the posts and that seems to help. I also run, so I'm putting in as many miles as I can this week 'cause I know I'm spending the rest of Dec. and all of January healing and getting strong.

Re: Feeling .. I don't know
These are normal feelings. Having a hysterectomy can be an overwhelming experience. You can distract yourself with housework, job activities, and/or school work. But as the day approaches, it consumes more and more of your thoughts.
Just try to keep your self as busy as possible, and make sure you household is prepped for your downtime. You will get through this, one way or the other. We will be here to support you. Posting is very helpful.
Good luck with your upcoming surgery. We will be waiting for you on the other side.
(((Hugs)))

Re: Feeling .. I don't know
Now I know why I'm feeling stressed. I started my period several days early. It wasn't supposed to start until a couple days before surgery and I was hoping that the gushing blood part wouldn't happen since it's often on the third day. Great, now I get to go through it one more time.

Oh the bright side though, doesn't this period make surgery sound great? Only a few days to go and you'll never have to worry about it again...

Feeling .. I don't know
I also started my period three days before my surgery, which was yesterday. I had the absolutely worst cramps I've ever had in my life, so any misgivings I had about the surgery were quickly set aside! Guess the fibroids had to have one final "hurrah!". All the best to you for an easy surgery and recovery.

You ladies will have memories forever of that last hurrah from the fibroids! Best of luck!
