Floating ovaries?

I haven't named my fibroid, but I have shortened my uterus to "uty" - and uty and I are parting ways on April 7th! I am worried about my ovaries though as it appears they will be "floating" after uty gets yanked. Obviously this can't be true...or can it?

FLoating ovaries

Generally speaking, ovaries are attached to a ligament, and do not float (although apparently they do occasionally do so.) There was a very helpful posting about this a few weeks ago here but I can't find it now. This link might help sort it out for you

Floating ovaries?

LOL - my husband bought me a HUGH stuff lion for my recovery. I named him Byuty - (short for bye bye uterus !).
My right ovary was adhered to my uterus from the endo so its gone now but my left is still kicking. My doctor attached it to a ligament which is the common practice. It certainly helps so that we can keep track of her !

Floating ovaries?

The ovaries are attached to the Broad Ligament. Do a search on broad ligament. Here is a link to a picture diagram. They are actually in there very good. I didn't know this before either.

Floating ovaries?

The ovaries have to be connected to a ligament and blood vessels on their own, otherwise they could not just leave them in there. They would die without blood. You can ask you doctor for a clearer idea of this, but the picture that mchell6789 linked pretty much shows all of it.
