No Date: Hysterectomy for hyperplasia, had great orgasm before, what can I expect?

I am discerning a partial vaginal hysterectomy. I read a lot about how everyone's sex life gets BETTER after hysterectomy, but that is usually for women who experienced pain. My problem is nonstop bleeding---that only ends with a D and C is performed. I used to have great orgasms, since this started---they are diminished and I worry they will be non existent on the other side of this.

Terrified this is the wrong decision for me.

I can only speak for myself. I had a total hysterectomy. Still able to have orgasms, but different. Not as intense.

I did not experience pain with intercourse pre op - I had my surgery for excessive bleeding and pain (diagnosed with severe adenomyosis post op).

Sex for me is better than before mainly because my libido is sky high and although it takes me longer to reach orgasm, when I do its very intense and I have more than one

There was an article recently (I think it may have been in Time) that reported on a study: women who had had hysterectomies had BETTER sex afterward. They said diminished sex drive and lower sexual pleasure were MYTHS.

I don't have any experience with the big "O" yet: I'm still doing "N-O," as in "no action." I'm only 13 days post op.

I too had this surgery due "only" to abnormal bleeding--neverending sometimes-and hyperplasia. No pain.

I know I still have a healthy sex drive: my libido is high, even though I've got four more weeks of "no action" to go. Don't know what's causing that: there is NOTHING sexy about what I've been through LOL, and my hub is being SO CAREFUL, so NOT suggestive!

If I feel this same way in four weeks, well, WOW.
