Pre-Op Hysterectomy: Open House Chat Thread - Today Aug 09, 2020

It is nice to know that I am not the only one with the fears of surgery. This site has been a wonderful site. After so many years of pain and heavy bleeding, my body is in need of vacating my uterus and cervix. The plan is to save my one remaining ovary, as I lost the other 9 years ago due to a very large cyst. I am hoping for a smooth recovery, as I tend to go over my limit for weight lifting because I have to lift 3 gallons of water for my chickens and garden. But, I do have my 12 year old son to help me out.

Lissa ... I'm so glad that HysterSisters has been a help to you. Please, pretty please be careful about lifting dear ... lifting too much can cause you to prolapse or tear your vaginal cuff. I prolapsed after surgery from pushing carts of books at work ... it was after my 6 week post op.

I really do understand about things needing to be done, honest ... I care about you and I don't want you to injure yourself and end up back to the hospital. Lifting one gallon at a time would take longer but would still get it done. Having your son there with you to do the carrying and lifting will really help you.

Love to you dear.

Thanks Littlebee72

I know what you mean. It's a bit of a dammed if you do dammed if you don't situation. I found myself reading the risks of each choice and deciding which I'm willing to live with.In the end, my Gyno will decide once he looks under the hood

I just hope this won't affect intimacy in the future. I hope I'll be one of those women who say it's the best thing they ever did. I hope you do too.

I'm off to vacuum the car now....running out of things to do as a distraction.

Good Luck tommorrow. You stay strong too!

Pre-Op Hysterectomy: Open House Chat Thread - Today Aug 09, 2020

Hello my name is Seanna I'm 46 & I will be having a partial hysterectomy by laparoscopic keeping my ovaries. Like most of you I'm nervous about the healing process but super excited about no more pain. I've done nothing to get prepared because my test is actually pending a negative covid(gotta be tested prior) I'm more nervous about that than the actual procedure.

Re: Pre-Op Hysterectomy: Open House Chat Thread - Today Aug 09, 2020

Hi Everyone! My name is Jen I am 43 and getting a robotic assisted hysterectomy on Thursday the 13th. They are taking my uterus, tubes and possibly cervix. I have a cyst on my right ovary so that might go but if they can we will keep both ovaries. I have endo and painful periods before kids. After my kids I now have very heavy bleeding with clots. I've tried birth control but it makes me crazy so we tried an oblation but that didn't work...my wall looks the same as a normal uterus wall. So now that they found the 7cm cyst, we decided to also do the hysterectomy at the same time. I am super nervous about the recovery and how much pain I might be in?
