Air Travel???

I do alot of travelling for my job and was wondering if anyone could share with me their experience after their surgery. I am scheduled for next week Wednesday and will be out of work 4 -6 weeks but will have to get on a plane very soon after. I am a little afraid of travelling so soon after.

Hi, I think that you should discuss this with your dr. He/she should be able to advise you best on what you can and cannot do. A lot will depend on what type of hyst you are having done. I had a tah/bso and I don't think that I'd have been ready to get on a plane for several weeks at the soonest. We are all different though, so it might work out for you

I am going on holiday at six weeks which my doc knew about when we went ahead with it. She said I'd be fine for travel. I was prepared to wait until the new year otherwise. She did say DH would have to do all the suitcases so you would need to be careful about carrying bags etc. But do ask when you can, maybe you will need longeroff work.

My Dr. didn't want me to travel out of the city I live in for 4 wks - at which time I was released for all activities. Again, like others say - check with your Dr. every surgery is different.
