Hi everyone

I had my abdominal hyster. on Nov. 27th with a bladder repair as well. I am still having light bleeding. Is anyone else still experiencing bleeding after almost a month post surgery? Grr...

Have a happy holiday

Hi Jo -

I think if your bleeding is more than spotting you should maybe just call your Dr. Just to be safe. My bright red went on that long, but an exam by my Dr knocked (not painful!) some clots loose and then the bright red stopped. That happened twice.

Having said that I am almost 7 weeks pot op and I am still having daily occasional light pink blood and I do have discharge of some kind still every day. I have yet to be able to go without a pad. when I saw my Dr for my 6 week he said it was becasue I'm not healed up yet and eventually it will stop. I agree with the grrrr - I am SO tired of it!

Have fun baking!

still bleeding after almost 4 weeks

I didn't start spotting until 2.5 weeks post op and then kept it up until about 8 weeks! Sometimes it was really light and other times just heavy enough a pantiliner wasn't enough. It was really frustrating but my gyn kept assuring me 'everything was fine and I'd just had a lot of work done in there.'

So hang in there, if it keeps up or gets heavier - call your doctor.

thanks for your input, everyone. I did call my doctor at about 21/2 weeks post surgery and they told me that it was normal and as long as I wasn't filling a pad an hour for more than 4 hours all was normal...but geez I was looking forward to not being anemic anymore. It's difficult for me to take iron because I have ulcerative colitis as well. But it is a bit lighter than before. I just really, really want to have a bath; the fact that it's Christmas and I haven't asked for bath bombs and oils is so very strange...I can't believe that I haven't had a soak for a month...I usually have a bath almost every night...I know bad for the environment given that I shower almost every am but I really try to conserve in other areas....

take care and happy holidays to everyone
