Hi Girls,

I haven't posted in awhile. I had moved my 6-week check with my doctor to 5 weeks (which was this week) and saw her on Tuesday. Everything looks good and I got the okay to go back to work which I did yesterday. I am only working 1/2 a day for now. It has not been bad although I am taking it easy at work and this afternoon took a nap after I got home. It has been a challenge getting up and ready in the morning when I am used to sleeping in!
Hope everyone is doing well too.

Hi everyone,

I am feeling well, walking each day but didn't realise that my first attempt at a bit of a hill would make me so tired! I doing so much at home and buzzing about generally - however I know that once I am back to my teaching job (next week) it will be very busy and full-on with long days.
My main concern now is that I have major night sweats even though I kept my ovaries. I have been through the menopause and on was HRT for about 6 years. I came off the HRT about 3 months before surgery and I was fine - no sweats. I have changed to a much lighter type of bedding, wearing cotton pjs but am ending up taking those off half way through the night! My sleep is very disrupted as a result.
Also my body clock still thinks I have a prolapse and that I need to get up to go to the bathroom every two hours!
Other than all this, I'm pain free and going well.

Hope you are all well.

Hi, Liverbird!

I had a total 9/18 and am 50 (I had not started menopause). The night sweats were horrific. I heard that accupuncture could help (I am a nurse and did not beileve in accupuncture, but I was willing to try it). After "2" treatments, I went from 7-8 night sweats and loss of sleep to only "1" last night...it is a miracle!
The accupuncturist has an "MD" degree.
I hope this helps!

Thanks Rita 1957,
I'll keep that in mind. I had my 6 week check up today so had a good chat about it all with my lovelyy lady gyno. Unfortunately I am off HRT because of migraines. My neurologist offered to prescribe Clonadine for night sweats if I don't improve. However I've had success with acupuncture in the past for other reasons so will certainly look to that if I need to.

No Plunge Yet

LAVH/TVT 9/6. Haven't posted because I couldn't find the thread. Went to my six week checkup. Based on internal exam (not painful) Dr said am not healed completely. That did not surprise me because I had continued to have a pinkish and sometimes a little reddish discharge through week five. He treated the "cuff" with silver nitrate. Not painful at all. Discharge from treatment is grayish black with some tissue shedding but lessening up after three days. Feel fine generally. Have more headaches though. Not sure if it is hormonal or an alignment issue. Taking very long walks. Energy level back to normal--resumed all normal activities except one. No pain in abdominal or groin area. Laprascopic sites on belly are fine; slightly sore if I press on them, but healing very well. Hair loss in shower more than normal. Started trying to up my intake of protein and iron to see if that helps. Started having light night sweats (had them a year ago so this was expected). Suppose the ovaries have discovered that I've cut off their major blood supply with removal of the uterus. Since not completely healed, not cleared for sex at six weeks. Dr said to wait for 8 week mark. Definitely do not want to chance breaking open the cuff until it is completely healed. Hope others are doing well at this point!

Hey to all,

I had my checkup with Doctor on Friday and got the all clear. Had first day back at work today. They have me on a recovery programme which means strict light office work, no lifting etc. Work is very understanding. It was great to be back in the station, although, I cant wear uniform yet as belly is still too big. I find it a bit bizarre because the scales say I have lost 6 kilos since my op, (have been off the red wine :-)). Is anyone else still finding the swelly belly problem??

Good wishes to all,

Great to read everyone's updates!~ My six week checkup was last week and I'm fully released! I'm walking a lot, I am back at work, and doing normal things around the house!! The ONLY thing I want to go away is the night/day sweats!!! I'm assured this will happen in time!

Hi Ladies!
I haven't posted in awhile. I go for my 6th week Dr. visit this Thursday.
My DH and I went to Sedona Arizona for a week, it was so Beautiful there!!!
I have been doing great. Can't wait to have sex again. Hopefully I will be fully healed and get the ok. The only thing I'm worried about is that I have done TOO much. I never had pain, so I went about doing things........I hope it doesn't come back to bite me in the BUTT!
Have a great day ladies!

Hi Nelly
Yes, I am thinking the same thing, my belly is still swollen and sore. I tried to wear a pair of jeans yesterday and they lasted on me about 2 hours and that was it. Too painful still.
It will be 7 week this Wed. How much longer does the belly bother us?? Ugh...Good luck to you!
