A Response to the ole "You won't be a woman anymore" line

Hi Ladies,

I am scheduled to have a TAH on Oct. the 8th and a MALE co-worker and I were on the way to lunch today. So, he turns to me and says that after I have the surgery I will not be a real woman anymore. Of course this is thru personal experience - his wife had a hyster. Yeah, right.

Well, I pondered for a very quick moment. I turned to him and said, "You're absolutely right. That's why I have asked my doctor to sew up my vagina during the surgery so the world can officially label me as an IT." He turned bright red and he didn't say a word all the way back to the office. I think I made my point.

Just wanted to share. Love the site - don't know what I would do without everyone's support. Take care!!!

That was a pretty cold, not to mention sexist, statment from him. Wonder if his wife knows he feels that way. If he's had a vasectomy, does that mean he's not a real man? I'd figure there were more issues than a hyster involved.

To be honest, I feel more feminine since my SAH/BSO than I ever did in the past. Gotta love white lacy panties Never could wear them before! Kinda like the old song: I love being a girl!!

Maybe his wife told him that she had her vagina sewed shut. Perhaps she was sick and tired of him!! I think he would deserve it!

Hi Norseworthy,

We are going to the Castle the same day. I'm having a TAH/BSO. Your post made me very glad for all the support I've received at my place of work. How very insensitive your co-worker was. I sure feel sorry for his wife!

I hope you have a quick and easy recovery.

How rude of him, and how quick/good of you!!! Awesome come back!!

My mom had a hyst, and ever since, my Dad has gotten sex maybe 5 times in the past 30+ years. She told him she lost desire, and she had no desire to do anything about it, and would never, has never. I don't think it's fair to him, but, it has made him form an opinion about it-any woman who has a hyster. will never want sex again, since this is all he knows, and has to live with.

Sad.

What an awesome comeback! Maybe he will think next time he starts to talk!

I wanted to let you know that I too feel much MORE female now that I am not dealing with constant cramping, bleeding and bloating.

My sex drive is better now than it ever has been....
