Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates Feb 22-Feb 28,2021

My surgeon cancelled my 6 week appt. She is suddenly out of the office for 2 1/2 weeks. I am guessing she was exposed to covid. So I will have a 9 week appt.

My back keeps hurting and I think it is just a digestive thing. Surgery certainly caused some changes in that area. I usually use epson salts for constipation, but they are not pleasant, and I just haven't felt like doing that.

Hello Sister’s,
I hope and pray that all is well, and that everyone is recovering well. My recovery has been well can’t complain.

I had my post op on the 8th of April. It well everything was healed well, I was cleared to add more daily activities in, and still remember the healing process is longer then 6 weeks.
My cuff was healed, but a few stitches hadn’t dissolved, so two more weeks with no sex.

During reading my pathology report, the pathologist did find on the inside of uterus I had focal Adenomyosis, so I am thankful they I had the hysterectomy.
I do still have my ovaries, but everything else is gone, and I do have hot flashes every blue moon. Oh yeah I can feel the ovaries are waking up!

Bowels are still some timing, but they are working normal most of the time.
Keep pushing and healing!

Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates Feb 22-Feb 28,2021

Hi all

Just checking in and saying hey. I'm now nearly 7.5 weeks post op. The pinching, pulling and wire wool feeling was slowly getting better.... That was until last Friday!

I was fortunate enough to have six weeks off work to rest. I returned to a new office for an induction last Friday and ended up going ip and down lots of stairs and, of course I wore more tailored trousers. I was out for about two hours and returned home with such a sun-burnt feeling deep inside my tummy. This has since got a bit better (now a week later) but I still feel worse than I was. Itvs like that Friday srt me back a couple of weeks!

It is slowly getting better, and I do feel lucky to be able to walk for an hour or more (I think this actually helps my pains and niggles), move around, and work from home. Sitting up for too long at a desk gives me back ache and my tummy is very swollen by the end of the day. I keep telling myself after 7.5 weeks it's okay to be where I am now. A total abdominal hysterectomy is a real challenge physically, mentally and emotionally, isn't it!?

Really hope you are all doing well. I do enjoy popping in to this community and hearing from ladies who really get what I'm going through. Big hugs and positive vibes to all.

Hey ladies! Hope everyone is recovering well! Just a question....I was 8 weeks post op yesterday, and after a couple of busy days this week's, yesterday I had some spotting? Have any of you experienced this a couple of months post op? It wasn't much, so I'm not overly concerned, but maybe I should be?

I also discovered that I had a large Adenomyosis & that was making all my issues way worse! Dr confirmed this too. I’m thankful too that I had the surgery.
My ovaries are totally fine & have large sore breasts & bloating! Wish it wasn’t so but I’ll take it!
Glad you’re doing well!

Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates Feb 22-Feb 28,2021

Had my 8 week post op appointment this week & was told I’d healed perfectly! She was impressed.
I chose to do very little since my op - I work from home so I took one week off & then sat at computer but took lots of breaks when I needed.
Aside from long dog walks - I did very little otherwise.
I played tennis yesterday & it wasn’t great but I’m grateful to be able to play, move & have fun without the pain & endless concern of bleeding. Phew!
Be well everyone & take care

We had surgery on same day! Congrats!
Likely not of major concern but I would suggest calling your Dr just in case. My Dr said this week that though I’m healed to still take it slow over next 3-6 months.
Be well!
