Crying Again...

Well I went to the doctors today and gave four tubes of blood for pre-op. The stick hurt and everytime she pulled the tube out and put another one in it hurt and then I got light headed. Boy - next weeks surgery will be a real test for me.

I still have not heard back from my doctor or the NP. Another nurse came to me today after I gave blood. I told her that I appreciated her coming out but It isn't her I need to talk to. My questions need to be asked to the MD. I emailed the NP 3 weeks ago. Called the MD last week and Called the MD yesterday.
I left the office crying and feeling really alone and that they really don't care - or they don't feel that I need come comforting right now.
Actually, often I want to just cancel the whole thing. The decision to have surgery was hard enough - getting answers and support shouldn't be this difficult.

I ams till struggling with having ovaries and tubes removed along with uterus. Right now I am thinking of only having uterus removed and if need be get O & T removed later. But who wants to have another surgery.

Thanks for listening

Patty

Crying Again...

Patty

Sometimes the medical professionals just don't give us the emotional comfort we want - sometimes they do, but we just can't count on it.

I've found with some everything is "ice cold" and ultra professional - and yet others are able to be ultra professional and be much warmer as individuals --- let's face it, they're just people too with good days and bad, and they can't always be as supportive on the emotional side as we'd like.

however, here at Hystersisters, we're pretty good at the tea and sympathy, hugs and --- so let me pass you a tissue so you can dry those tears.

If you are having second thoughts about part of your surgery - don't hesitate to talk to the dr.
If you have good reasons for keeping your ovaries (or better, no good reason to remove them) then why have them out?
Even if , sometime down the road, you need to have them removed (and not everyone does) - it is a much less invasive procedure, and you will have had some extra time with your own hormonal system.

It is certainly worth trying to keep them if there are no health reasons not to.

I hope you feel better soon. I know how stressful it can be before surgery.
