How do I sleep?

I am a tummy sleeper. Any suggestions for the best way to sleep? By the way I am having a TAH. Thanks for any feedback.

How do I sleep?

I'm a side sleeper & was a tummy sleeper until a neck injury took away that pleasure. I used a body pillow in front & pillows behind my back once I went from my favorite recliner back into my bed. The body pillow is great support for your insides. I leaned into it (even on my side I tend to roll toward my stomach with my bottom leg straight & the top one bent. I found having the body pillow up against me kept me from rolling too far forward & thus, off my tummy. Maybe this would help you. Good luck!

How do I sleep?

Although I am normally a side sleeper, I slept on my back for the first few weeks after my surgery.

I was so drugged out at the castle I didnt even care I was only on my back, I did sleep on and off.. but the last night there I did use the pillow I brought to lay on my side, it was not so bad. I am a tummy sleeper too, always have been, but I did adjust to what my body wanted, there were times I could sleep on my side, but my full tummy sleeping didnt happy for about 2 weeks..
GOOD LUCK!!

How do I sleep?

I have slept on my back for a week now, using plenty of pillows, I prop myself up and sleep that way, I think it is best to be upright to keep your lungs clear for the first two or three weeks, you will be able to sleep propped up on your back, don't worry!

How do I sleep?

I'm laying here in bed right now with my beloved body pillow!!!

I'm a side sleeper and just roll into the body pillow with my top leg thrown over it. I actually look forward to coming up to bed after a day on the couch just so I can hug my pillow!!! I think my dh may be jealous......

How do I sleep?

Second day after TAH/BSO I was starting to sleep on my side--no one told me not to, and for the last two nights, less than a week after surgery, I've been sleeping mostly on my sides as I usually do without a problem. None of the doctor's instructions said not to, I hope I'm not doing the wrong thing, but I can't sleep on my back and I MUST have my sleep!!!! So far my incision is healing just fine, doctor said that the sutures they use are very strong and the written post-op instructions actually recommend that women not be "afraid" of their wounds! Check with your doctor though, every situation is different.

How do I sleep?

yep, nothing I got regarding post op instructions mentioned sleep position. If you are comfy, I say sleep when when and how you can!
I am trying to take "sleep all day" lessons from my 8 year old Tonkinese cat! Boy is he a Master Sleeper! He gets into positions that range from Bean, to sphinx, to run over by a car to flat on his back! He must sleep 20 hours out of 24! No pillow, on pillow, next to a pillow, matters not, now that is how we should all be!
Sweet dreams!
