Re: Scared

Hi, I was scared too. I knew I had fibroids, but after I had an ultrasound to check on them, they called and said I needed a hysteriscopy and d&c. I was crying on the phone with the nurse praticioner, not because I was worried something serious was wrong, but because I was scared of the procedure and worried about anesthia. I was going to refuse to do it, but when I saw the dr she was so kind and so sincere that I decided to do it. They let me do it in a surgery clinic instead of hospital and they agreed to give me very light anesthesia, like what they give for colonoscopy. And I will tell you that it was doing that procedure that gave me the courage I needed to do the hysterectomy. I had virtually no pain after either procedure. You are stronger than you think you can do it!

I now have to a hysterectomy @ the end of the month due to cervical cancer. I'm nervous & have been put on Xanax for my anxiety. I requested the same anesthesiologist for this upcoming surgery. It's very anxiety filled but being on here helps for the most part. I even read on the recovery page just to get an idea what they are going through & the answer provided. Best wishes to you!!

I'm definatly going to need something. Can't stop crying and panics attacks are horrible now. I'm terrified to even be put under for my d&c and hysteroscopy. Lol I know prob seem like a huge baby.
