Pre-op prep question.
Jane ... I am so sorry I scared you. That is the last thing I wanted to do. I just found that all the little pieces I got from others helped me.
Keep us posted with how you make out after calling the doc.
Hugs,
Tracy

Pre-op prep question.
Well girls I've decided I have the best obgyn in the world and I am so happy he is the one doing my surgery. I called his office and he got right on the phone..personally..and told me to do a warm sitz bath with bedodine 3x a day and then to follow with max strength prepH cream..not ointment. If I'm not better by Monday he wants to see me. I couldn't believe he actually got on the phone and spoke to me rather than giving his nurse the instructions. He is so great. Sitz bath..forgot all about that little gem. ( I see you haven't dear Natalie..thanks so much for the kind words) Maybe I forgot because it's been 21 years since my last episiotomy. Well I went to Walgreens and got the whole set up and put it in the extra bathroom. My DH freaked out a little bit when he first saw it. Then he says to me "Honey do you think your butt will actually fit in that thing?" I didn't know whether to laugh or hit him. I assured him the part that needed to be in there would fit. The betodine is very expensive so I hope it works. We can wrap up this post thread now. Thanks for your advice. I hope none of you have to go through this 14 days pre-op. Oh well at least I am catching up on some of my magazines. Have a good week.
Hugs
Jane

Pre-op prep question.
I didn't have to do bowel prep before either of my surgerys. Tell the doctor your concerns and maybe you won't have to. Just be sure to prevent constipation after surgery so it doesn't worsen the problem. I used stool softener but hadn't had a BM for over a week. I started using Milk of Magnesia and it worked wonderfully. Best of Luck to you!

Pre-op prep question.
all the best to you Jane!
in one of my sales-training seminars years ago, someone said 'if you don't ask, there's 100% chance they'll say no'!! it was great advice for sales, and for life in general! i'm so glad you decided to go straight to the source, and look what great results! this is just a beautiful sign that your surgery will go as well ... on another thread i read about visualizing (it had to do with minimizing bleeding during surgery by imagining it going away from the area to other parts of your body) ... that might help you too -- imagine those painful little buggers getting smaller and smaller so they can't cause trouble -- i know, a little nutty, but hey, whatever works, right??!! remember, a mind is a terrible thing to waste!!

Pre-op prep question.
Geri..ahhh..so that is what I can do while I am sitting and soaking those little pain in the you know where away. I will definately imagine them getting smaller. Do you think it will work for my butt too? I mean if I am going to visualize I may as well go all the way.
Hugs

Pre-op prep question.
Just as a follow up girls, I have been doing the sitz baths for 3 days and it has really really helped. The good news is I can continue using the prepH right up to the night before surgery. Thanks again for all of your support and help
Hugs to all

Glad you are better
Was wondering how you were doing Braveheart. I am glad you are feeling some relief. I am in the same boat as you are. When you were troubled so was I and it was freaking me out that in 1 1/2 weeks I would be going into surgery with my rearend hurting prior to being cut. I took the suggestions of sitz bath and prep H and it helped but it did take 3-4 days b4 I could sit comfortably.
Keep in touch and let me know how you're doing.
I am really anxious about the surgery (TVH, A & P etc).
I am just not in the mood for having to deal with training myself to urinate again and being sore for weeks.
Sending hugs and warm wishes
Natalie

Pre-op prep question.
Natalie,
I am glad it is helping you too. I still have the hemmorroid, but it is shrunk to about half the size, so I am sticking with the treatment plan. I am nervous too. My TAH/BSO is just a week from Thursday.
I will be thinking of you
Hugs
