Re: I'm new here!

Hi Debbie! You have a few months until your hysterectomy it looks like! There are chat rooms here sometimes, and they are interesting to hang out, listen and "talk" in!
I started reading everything I could about six weeks before my hysterectomy, and since then I am on here often--always wondering how others are recovering. Lots to read on here...it'll keep you busy! I have had a great recovery (almost six weeks post op now!), and had a Da Vinci hysterectomy and was able to keep my ovaries. Good luck to you, and my advice before hand is to focus on positives...I wish I hadn't put so much time and thought into the negatives that could happen, but didn't. Have a nice evening

I wish I had more time, but after an emergency d&c I had 2 weeks. But I have to admit it was enough time to worry ! I plan on passing the web page to my dr. at least others might get info and be ahead of the game. Im so happy I found this web page while in the early party of my recovery. It has helped so much.

Re: I'm new here!

Sure does, huh? I have found it invaluable! None of my friends have ever had a hysterectomy, just my mom about thirty years ago. I had so, so many questions that really were answered mostly here. Thankfully, I think I have a really great doctor, too. If not for this site, I'm sure I would have really irritated the hospital and clinic. Jshriber, how is your recovery going?

I had the same issue no one to talk to! As long as I remind myself to slow it doen im good. I tend to think I can do too much and pay for it dearly. Slow learner. I am having pressure that started a couple days ago, and my bladder is not talking to tell me I have to pee. So I just make extra trips to the bathroom , but seems to be fairly normal. I have my 2wk on friday and will let my dr know.

Re: I'm new here!

This site is really wonderful. Take it easy--I did for two weeks and then my doctor said I could start to workout if I felt up to it, just to listen to my body. My body and mind had conflicting ideas, and so I worked out the next day and then spent two days on the couch. One step forward, two back. Since then, I've learned (I think). I am back to being pretty active, and have my six week appt tomorrow! I had a Da Vinci hysterectomy, so I think the recovery tends to be quicker than perhaps other kinds of hysterectomies. I write every question I have for my doctor. He has quite the file on me, with it filled with preop questions and then the post op! I only have a few questions tomorrow. Feeling tired, but good!!
