TAH upcoming

wow been through bowel prep before, I am having my TAH on 25 Nov, I will not see my doc again till 3 days before surgery, I am wondering if I will have to do this too In a way I kinda hope so, cause I am a plus size person and I do not think I am gonna want to have any trouble after my surgery.

Check with both your surgeon and the hospital you are having the job done in. I went through three doctors before I got to the one who could do what I needed done, and I received instructions both from his office and from the hospital he had privileges at. They were identical. A call to the surgeons office doesn't take long at all and you will know for sure, what to do prior to surgery. Ask for a printout or fax or email.

I had one, but was in hospital so think it's standard in the hospitals around here.

Definitely call the doc's office. If doc isn't there, explain that you want to ask the doc's nurse about bowel prep (or simply pre-op) instructions. Then when you talk to nurse/doc you'll find out. If they say no, you can let them know your choice/concern and go from there.
