I'm new -- scheduled to have a myomectomy

Hello all,
My name is Rachelle and I'm new to the board. I'm scheduled to have an abdominal myomectomy on August 29, 2006. I'm 33 years of age and do not have any kids, I want to have children in the future. It was recommended to get this procedure because my fibroids were extremely large. I'm a little scared but wanted to ask if anyone on the board has gone through this procedure if so, should I have anything to be scared of?

My youngest sister had a myomectomy when she was 30, due to a grapefruit sized fibroid. She was not in a relationship at the time and she wanted kids in the future. She met my brother-in-law 2 yrs. after her surgery and they now have two DD's, 12 and 10.

I just had a myomectomy on August 2nd. I was nervous up to the day of surgery and the day of surgery I couldn't wait to have it done. I had a fibroid the size of a grapefruit and a lot of small ones. I looked like I was 18 weeks preg. I wanted my old body back and I am so glad I had the surgery.
