I too felt the same way. For me it was the tube down my throat. I am so glad I do not remember that going in or coming out! the thought of it makes me queasy. That and the being put to sleep at all get me. But I went through it ok.

I just want to chime in with the others, don't be too hard on yourself, you have to feel comfortable about going into surgery. Hopefully you will be able to arrange things so that you won't worry too much about the operation and the recovery. Best of luck to you!

Two thoughts come to mind. First, when you reschedule make sure its early morning so you do not have the day to sit and stress and wait. Second reschedule asap. I know its not easy. My surgery is coming up Nov 14th and I am nervous as heck. But the sooner you get it over with the better off you will be. I just lost my sister who had leiomyosarcoma which is a cancer that often hides in fibroids. She had a hysterectomy 2 yrs ago but was never told there were possible cancer cells there. Ask the dr for pre op sedatives. But don't postpone it any longer. I take Effexor for anxiety and depression and I know about panic attacks. They are no fun. You have to learn to slow your breathing down during them. Imagine standing at the ocean and match your breathing to the ocean waves.
