Hot flashes at 40?

I'm scheduled for SAH on 11/30 for heavy periods, cramps, endo and polyps. I had Lupron 4 years ago which helped for a while but the pain has come back.

Has anyone here has had hot flashes because of endo or fibroids? OR is this just my ovaries going crazy?

Hot flashes at 40?

I believe hot flashes are hormonal. I'm 55 and not sure if I've ever had one. What are you feeling?

I quickly feel warm, then instant hot and then almost a sweat breaks out from the chest/neck area mostly.... then a slow cool down. I want to take off my shirt and fan myself. I always look around to see if anyone else is hot. I'm normally always feeling cold so this is new to me. I've had this maybe 6 time this last few months. Is this any thing like you feel?

I'd say your ovaries are working overtime.

Hot flashes at 40?

I pretty much feel exactly like you described. When I was on Lupron, I had fierce hotflashes. I kept a box fan on my desk at work and didn't care WHO thought I was crazy for doing it. I would ride to work in the mornings, in 30 degree weather with my head hanging out the window to get cooled off. That was a drug induced menopause so I guess that's why they were so strong and intolerable. (But they weren't as bad as the pelvic pain that the Lupron got rid of.)

This time, they've come back natrually, I suppose, but they are not as strong. It's definately a warm feeling in the chest area that slowly rises upwards. It lasts for a minute or two and every so often it lasts a little longer. My pelvic pain and ovarian pain has increased alot over the last few weeks. I suppose my ovaries are being little scaredy cats and workin' overtime because they know they're about to be evicted! :-)
