Hi Sisters, I'm home and feeing very well. Yesterday's surgery took about 3 hrs, in post-op for 1.75 hrs and off to my room. Not feeling too bad, used a little morphine when I wanted to move. Slept ok for being in the castle with all the pestering. No problems with the cath and was able to eat a bowl of oatmeal for dinner . Today I'm able to get up and walk on my own so I can just about take care of myself. It will be nice to sleep in my own bed tonight. I am very happy my Dr. was able to do the LSH and all went well. Good luck to everyone and lots of hugs!! Pat

I'm home! Surgery July 3rd

I am a princess now!

Well, all went great. I had the hysterectomy done laparoscopically and was able to keep my one ovary and my cervix! I am so glad that it is over and put behind me. I was discharged at 1:00 this afternoon. I am very glad to be home!

Thank you all for your kind well wishes, thoughts and prayers. I am so lucky to have such a great group of cyber friends! {{{HUGS}}

Hope all my hystersisters on the same day are doing well!

Home from the castle this afternoon minus the ovaries that we hoped to keep. Surgery was done completely laporoscopicly. I went in at 7:30, and was home by 4. Had a harder time waking up from anestisia due to a longer surgery than originaly planed. Still feeling a bit stoned.
Once in surgery, doc found a lot of adhesian, scar tissue, and endometriosis all over the ovaries. We had discused it before hand, and decided that if that was what he found, he would remove them to avoid any future pain. My hyster was originaly done due to hemerogia and masive cramping. Doc feels the condition of my ovaries was contributing considerably to the cramping.
I am deeling with the gas pains as they hit me, and DH is doing his best to help masage my shoulders, where the gas bubbles seam to be getting together to through a party! Hubby has also set me up with a recovery station. My recliner is paired up with a new storage bin/ table set up that has been stocked with new books, crochet patterns and yar, a complete seris from Masterpiece Theatre on DVD called the Duches of Duke Street - season one and two, and a small dorm fridge with drinks and snacks.
I must be a princes, I've turned a frog into a prince!
Blessings to all,
Lori B

Day 2. 4th of July. My husband and I celebrate 15 years of mariage today. What a way to celebrate! Me stuck in my recliner, and him doing the housework! Before the surgery, I appologized for the timing of it, and how sorry I was that it was going to ruin our day. He turned to me, and with a twinkle in his eyes he said "I'd much rather have you mess this one up, than miss out on all the rest". I have come very close to hemoraging several times.
Every once in a while, they do say just the right thing!

My surgery was done July 3. It was laproscopic. I am in so much pain!!! My meds are not working. Have called the dr. office and no return call yet. I miss the wonderful shots that were given at the hospital. I think they need to make a house call!!!

Oh, poor baby!

I am SO sorry you are in pain!! Is it the gas pains everyone is talking about? Or pain from the incisions? I would call and leave another message!!! Hang in there!

In the Homestretch now!

Surgery on July 2 in the AM. It went very well. I was back in my room in less than three hours. I'm very happy with the result. Dr said my uterus was folded over with fibriods and one overy had a large cyst. Kept the cervix which I'd expected to loose so that is good. Everyone was great at the castle. So caring and kind. I was wondering the halls all night on the 3rd looking for relief from the constipation and gas. Finally able to pass some gas and got to go home on July 4th. My personal independence day!!

I wish I'd paid more attention to how I'd have to get in and out of bed. Tired arms and upper back from the rollover and push up but very happy to be getting up and down so well! Once I get the bowels working again I'll be in clover!

Hello Princesses!! I had my surgery on the 3rd and all is well now. I had a LAVH/BSO. And of course I have pain on and around my incisions... but I can already tell a difference on the inside. I am so excited to live pain free. I am sure all of you are too. I am feeling good as long as I keep up w/ the meds. Hubby is working like a slave to keep the house in order.... That is all for today. Take care of yourselves ladies.
