how big is this fibroid?

Thank you for this post. I was wondering how big my 6X8.8 cm fibroid was. I guess I have an "orange."

how big is this fibroid?

My fibroid was "canteloup" sized: 12x14x15 cm. They said it was about 18 weeks size. I put up with it for two and a half years, and it grew very slowly during that time. It caused urinary incontinence and backaches and very awkward sex, but I got used to putting up with it. It was the anemia that really got me thinking about surgery. Since my surgery, my bladder is sooo much happier, I don't have to wear pads to catch the urine, my back doesn't hurt, the anemia is gone, and sex is much more comfortable, though at six weeks post-op I still have to be careful about positions: when my dh was on top his weight was just too much for my tender tummy. I'm still a little achy, but I've been hiking several times and am back at work. Oh, and the pathology report said it was benign. Just a strange little goblin baby; who knows why our bodies grow these things.

how big is this fibroid?

Zraven --

I am 38 and I hate to have it done too, but now I've received three different doctor opinions and researched every other alternative and not found any better option.

Please research your options and get at least one other opinion. Your other options include uterine artery embolization, myomectomy, ablation, progesterone cream, watchful waiting, etc. In my case after researching all those options, and after doing watchful waiting for about 3 months, I am convinced LSH is the right option for me. But you need to spend the time looking at the alternatives before you will feel right about your decision.
