feeling sick before surg

If anyone can help me with this question..greatly appreciated. My surgery is 1 week from today. Yesterday started feeling like I was getting a cold. Went to my medical doc. and she prescribed the Z pak..(5 day antibiotics). I will be taking the last antibiotic 2 days before surgery. Is this a problem since I will be on antibiotics again on Wed. Did not want to come down with bronchitis while in the castle. I know the Z pack states it still works up to ten days after taking them. If anyone knows about this..please respond.

I know that you REALLY need to call your surgeon / anesthesiologist about this right away. they might postpone the surgery until you're over your sickness and the meds are out of your system. but then again, they might not! I called even when I wanted to take tylenol for my period 5 days before.

I posted this on another thread but ill post it here too...

If you are taking antibiotics PLEASE eat a yougurt a day, (make sure its the kind with the live bacteria) otherwise you are asking for a yeast infection.

Antibiotics can not differentiate from good and bad bacteria and by eating the yougurt you are putting the good back in and protecting yourself from yeast infections, if the antibiotics are really strong or you are prone to yeast infections, i would eat 2 or more a day.

I had a dr tell me this same thing, and that antibiotics also mess with your birth control pills making them not work!.. thats how i got one of my children come to think of it... LOL

take it easy.. all will work out.. and definatly call your dr!
