Went in on the 28th for a LVAH but once they got in there they discovered severe endometriosis so thay had to open me up. Got out of the castle yesterday afternoon. I'm not in too much pain as long as I keep a regular schedule for the Motrin and Percocet. Glad to be on the other side now!

Hi all you new princesses. I made it!!!! I had tvh with a & p repairs on the 29th and had some trouble getting pain under control. My doctors were the greatest and kept me until this am when we all felt I was ready to leave. The pain was more than I anticipated but I made it through knowing many have before me and I knew it would get better. Still sore & tired but glad to be on the other side. My best to all who are waiting it is and does get better!!!
Still waiting for the first bm and getting anxious. Starting with Milk of mag tonight.

Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates Sep 28-Oct 04,2009

Had SAH (i think thats the short version of it) On September 29th, kept the cervix and both ovaries. Was feeling fantastic after the surgery was out of surgery by 2pm then they let me come home the next morning on wednesday.

I was a little concerned with when I would be able to go back to work or how long the recovery time actually takes with this type of operation. I definitely don't like the swelly belly, hope that goes away soon.

Best wishes to everyone for a fast recovery

Had my LSH on 10/1, with perineum repairs, rectocele repairs and bladder sling. I got home last night, 10/2, and didn't sleep for crap last night, between the gas pains and being very sore. Feeling better now with a couple of percocet but I have a really bad headache and I'm all swolllen. I slept really well in the hospital, but I had a morphine pump. Thanks for all the tips and support.

Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates Sep 28-Oct 04,2009

LAVH was on Wednesday (9/30) and now today, Saturday, I'm feeling a LOT better.

Still having some pains internally, but not as bad. Gas is not as bad today & have managed to stay "regular" without a laxitive or stool softener.

Not taking any prescription meds for pain, just advil & tylenol.

Fortunately I've had a lot of help from friends. I've been able to take things very easy and not been tempted to overdo.

I'm so happy everyone is recovering well I'm still taking it easy. Walking around the house, folding clothes... I have bent down on accident to pick up something a couple times - not smart! I started taking my 1 mg estradiol last night. I was expecting some horrible change or side effects (don't know why) but nothing. I slept really good. I'm praying for all of you

Hi All

I had my LAVH on Monday at 12:00 on September 28 and all is well. I went home from the hospital on Wednesday AM. Everything is going good, slow going but good. I'm only taking tylenol when needed since Tuesday night. Pain is not that bad. I will talk soon.
