Progesterone for complex hyperplasia

(((Robin))):

I can well imagine how distressing this must be for you! If you look over on our Cancer Concerns forum, you'll see that endometrial cancer has stricken younger sisters as well; it's not just a disease of menopause, unfortunately. However, the progestins in whatever form have been known to regress this sort of pathology; taking care of your diet (with special attention to limiting sugar and caffeine intake and taking vitamins and supplements as recommended).

Obviously, your family history, and your personal history of PCOS make this particularly acute. If they've not checked your thyroid function, I would ask for a full panel; PCOS can also be linked to hypothyroidism, which can alter bleeding patterns and hyperplasia. If you've got a chance, check out a wonderful website called Soulcysters. They have an active message board (not quite as active as here, however ) and this issue, along with the hormonal therapy, does come up.

Hope the progestin works, without too many side effects. The hormonal balances are very different with PCOS, so if you feel that the Megace isn't working for you, there are other choices you can ask about, such as the Mirena coil mentioned earlier and progesterone that's bio-identical called "Prometrium".

Here's hoping for a clean biopsy next time, and less bleeding!

Thanks. I have joined that group. I was having a horrible day yesterday. Today my outlook is much brighter. I really appreciate your words. I truly needed them.

I hope the Megace works for you. There's a lot of information about all aspects of PCOS (especially the metabolic problems, such as insulin resistance, etc.) over at that site, so I'm glad you joined.

Let us know how the repeat biopsy goes, OK? By then, you'll probably have a much better idea about the PCOS, and maybe you'll be able to find other appropriate interventions to avoid a hyst, or at least postpone it. I can well imagine your particular fear, but you're getting your abnormalities caught much earlier in the game, in time to avoid your mom's fate.

Glad you're feeling better! I've always found that the more I understand about what is happening with my body, the better I feel -- at least I'm not battling the unknown that way .

Progersterone for complex heperplasia

Hello,

I recently not only had complex hyperplasia, but also low-grade endometrial cancer. I am a new member and am hoping to help people.
Progestins (the synthetic form of progesterones) reversed my cancer.
I believe there's a good chance they can reverse your hyperplasia.
My treatment is considered controversial.
I am hoping people will read my website which goes into more detail.. URL snipped by admin -- click on the "WWW" button
