Yes, I too had adenomyosis and the pain along with the fusing was horrid. I feel for you but I bet you will feel so much better once it is done..

Re: Fused Uterus after ablation
I, too, had an ablation. And had to undergo a vaginal hysterectomy. All I can say is that I feel amazing now.
I guess I must have been in pain for awhile and just didn't realize how much it was wearing on me or how much it was bringing me down!!
I was against the hysterectomy completely. But now.. it's the best thing. I feel great! And I don't have to worry about pain or about being constipated and bloated all the time. Things are so much better.
I know that this is hard for you but the darkest is before the dawn!!
Praying for you and a full recovery, sister!!

Re: Fused Uterus after ablation
I too had the Novosure Ablation in Sept 2009, worked wonders for about a year (or so i thought). In Dec 2010 i started having cramps which gradually got to where it was occuring everyday. The pain was horrible and debilitating. I was diagnosed with hematometra, post tubal ablation syndrome which is basically where blood trapped in the uterus backs up into tubes/ovaries. I think someone above mentioned the same thing. I was totally against the hysterectomy at first. We tried birth control pills hoping to stop the bleeding but no luck. Hysterectomy was my only option.
I am SO glad that I did this. Even though i'm still in the healing period, I feel so much better! I finally am getting my life back.
Praying that you will find better days ahead!

Re: Fused Uterus after ablation
I really just wish they could diagnose something on me. Now it's just a simple "we'll take it out and you should have no more pain." But me, being an inquisitive soul, I want to know what's going on with my body. I know I'll find something out in the post-op report and in the pathology report, and in a way, I'm probably better off not knowing exactly what is going on in there besides the obvious that my uterus hates me greatly for attempting to stop it's natural processes. LOL

Re: Fused Uterus after ablation
I'm having my hysterectomy on 1/30 because of the Ablation also.
Doctor says I developed scar tissue from it and it traps the blood, which is causing the SEVERE cramps. I've been living like this for about 8 months now and after going over all the options, this really IS the only option.
I've never heard of the uterus being fused together...I will need to ask her about that during my pre-op. She didn't do any tests because we know the reason for my pain IS the ablation, but I need to ask her if its fused together, will that make the hysterectomy more complicated?
Either way, I'm just looking forward to the pain being gone. I've read what we've been going through every month is NOTHING compared to the recoup of the hysterectomy. Don't know if that's true, but I'm thinking 'the healing pain' will be much more acceptable.
good luck!

Re: Fused Uterus after ablation
Wow it is scary to see how many ladies had an ablation which led to having a hysterectomy. I too had an ablation Feb 2010 and my hysterectomy (TAH) is scheduled for January 31st. I am so glad I joined this group. I have learned so much from reading the posts. One thing that is clear is that the recovery seems to vary among individuals and what type of surgery you have. I am going to expect the worse, and hopefully I wont have any difficulties. Thank you wonderful ladies for all of your stories you share.

Re: Fused Uterus after ablation
Actually having had the trapped blood myself and the horrid pain that went along with it, the recoup is SO MUCH BETTER! The pain and recovery from the surgery is nothing compared to the pain of those horrible cramps. You will be so glad that the pain is gone!

Re: Fused Uterus after ablation
At least there is some hope in the future to be done with the pain. Although these days, my family seems to enjoy my conversations while I'm on the pain meds.

Re: Fused Uterus after ablation
fromthegrove and Daisy, we'll all be surgery buddies!!!! Surprising that we all have the same thing going on too. I really wish I had found this site before my ablation but that's ok, we'll all end up healthy and happier.
Now if I could just stop the crazy cleaning that hurts me more after I'm done than it initially bothered me to begin with, I'd definitely be doing MUCH better.
