The awkward question...

OK, I will warn you that you might be in the mood before your body is ready. Everyone is different. Talk to your doctor. If after several weeks post op you can ask about the pelvic rest and find other ways to satisfy your spouse and yourself that does not involve penetration. I know for some the fear of not being able to orgasm after losing your cervix can be scary. Talk to you doctor and follow their guidelines. Mine was strict about nothing entering the vagina but other nonpenetrating forms of sex was allow after 3-4 weeks if you felt up to it.

I had a total Da Vinci vaginal assist Hysterectomy... the Dr. cleaned house and I have a vaginal cuff that is healing. I am 3-1/3 weeks post-op. I too, had the same question pre-op.

My doctor made it very clear... NOTHING was to be inserted but orgasms were absolutely fine. One of my post-op symptoms was a heighten libdo while in pain! such a gruel thing! It seems to happen to some women...

So far the orgasms have not hurt me at all. Doctor did pelvic exam for another issue at week two but cuffing was healing fine.

BUT you need to talk to your doctor about what is okay with the type of procedure you had. All is not lost!
