Op sched for 4/20. Terrified after seeing HERS video

I am new to all of this. What do some of the initials mean? SO? SAH? Do they have to reopen an old Abdominal Scar or can I have a hysterectomy another way?

As to your question, only your doctor will be able to tell you. Sometimes they don't know if they can do it another way until they try and if it doesn't work, then they do the abdominal cut.

Yes, you are so right, and I'm going to try very hard to keep my ovaries. My hubby plans on talking to the dr. about it to! He feels almost as strongly about it as I do, which is kinda interesting, I think

Regarding the HRT, I asked about a specific HRT recommended by Suzanne Sommers and it's not on our prescriptive list. I think, based on your note, one of my actions for this week is to become more knowledgable about HRT. I hadn't even considered until now when she made me sign the form that I might lost them. She and I did talk extensively that I want to keep them unless they are visibly riddled with cancer...

Yep, we have FMLA in MA too... but my bosses are trying to help me not go on disability as not only will it cut my base salary, but it will cut my commissions as well -- effectively putting my income at such a low level I won't be able to pay my bills... which is uber important because I'm the sole breadwinner... so their heart is in the right place I think.... but certainly not the expectations.

I still gotta figure this part out somehow....

Thank you, my friend, as you and I have arrived at the same decision. In reality, I should've done this much sooner. My only real issue at this time is the fear of losing my ovaries and the usual fears that come with going under the knife.

She told me that it's a good thing to go in through my old C-section scar, so that's what I'm doing.

Oh, and before I forget... the abdominal was scheduled after a failed myomectomy and failed ablation... due to horrificly large fibroids. Vaginal and laproscopic aren't choices for me because of my tumors.

Well I do understand how you feel believe me, I just had TVH this year January 12 of this year. I was very scare going though this myself but I knew the quality of my-life would be better. I been though so much with my fibroid s and it was very ugly. I was told my cervix and uterus will be remove but I kept my ovaries. Just three weeks for the surgery my cervix prolapse because the fibroid s grew alot bigger which I had three size of a football. I was put to sleep during my surgery. I will praying for you and wish you the best good luck.
