Re: Adenomyosis and hysterectomy
And you've written what I'm worrying about, that the pathology won't show anything! But geez, there has to be *something* there. And, in the end, if the surgery makes us feel better, that's the only result that matters. I'm counting the days. (also counting the days to my pre-op sonogram, because I do really feel like *something* has grown since my last U/S in Sept., whether it's a fibroid or a new ovarian cyst)
Hang in there!

Re: Adenomyosis and hysterectomy
9 days for my appointment with the doctor and getting nervous. Then I sit here for almost a week straight with so much pressure and discomfort that even going to the bathroom doesn't relieve it. I just can't understand when something causes so much trouble that they can't see it without pathology. My husband is fully supporting me and thinks it is what I should do which is saying a lot as he worries terrible about any procedures.
I am hoping this really makes me more comfortable - I get excited to think that they may fix this for me and I can live without worry and constant aches.
You are all great and I do appreciate the ear!!!!

Re: Adenomyosis and hysterectomy
So I should be getting the call for the surgery date this week. They told me that there are things that they can try, like and IUD... which is about the only thing I have not tried, then she did the exam and I found out I have a uterine prolapse as well.
They are taking both the uterus and the cervix laproscopically.
Still learning my way around this board but if anyone here has had this done any words of wisdom would be appreciated. I am nervous.

Re: Adenomyosis and hysterectomy
I am 8 days from surgery, and I'm very ready. I can't wait for it to be over, mostly because I want to know what feeling good feels like.

Re: Adenomyosis and hysterectomy
In the pre op forum there is a sub link called hints from members. Once you have your surgery date that's where you'll find all kinds of great tips for preparing for recovery!
