weight gain 3 months later ( kept ovaries)

Hello,
I am 12 weeks post surgery and all is going well. I was happy because I was over 6lb down from prio surgery. However in the last 2 weeks I m putting all the weight back on and more. I am exercising again regularly and have not done any change to my diet so I assume it is understand directly due to the hysterectomy although I have kept my ovaries. I have done research and requested some info from here but was hoping for some more input.

I gained 20 lbs in a year since surgery but i lost my ovaries. Not sure about ovaries kept and weight gain other than going thru natural menopause can cause some weight gain

The removal of the uterus would not cause weight gain. If it did, more of us would gain weight in the months afterwards, but enough of us don't.

You could still be dealing with a hormonal imbalance which may be affecting your metabolism... or it could be something unrelated. Have you had your thyroid levels checked? Hypothyroidism can cause weight gain, and in a short time frame. Other causes: stress, PCOS (not likely if you'd not been diagnosed in the past), insomnia, a gut flora imbalance, perimenopause (with its hormone imbalance) and some other uncommon issues.

If you're certain that your diet and exercise are adequate to burn extra calories (weight loss is still about using more than you take in), I'd make an appointment with your primary care doctor to have some tests run.
