Re: Fibroids - To have a hyst or not?
I lived in sweats and pyjama pants while I was at home. I guess now one could add baggy shorts to the list. Drawstring pants were my "fancier" option once I started venturing out and started caring a bit what I look like. The only thing I bought was a couple of pairs of granny panties.
The hardest part was return to work and finding clothes to wear for the first couple of weeks. Drawstring pants were my favourite as they are really flexible.

Re: Fibroids - To have a hyst or not?
I wore nightgowns for the first 3 weeks. I didn't want anything on my stomach. I also had to use the bathroom so much it was nice not to have to worry about pants. After that I was in the drawstring pants too. While I can fit back in my regular cloths now I am still comfortable in the drawstring pants. Giggle.

I, and many others, wore jumpers or waistless type dresses when we were not in our gowns!

Re: what to wear when your clothes don't fit?
I wore pajama pants around the house. I also got a couple pair of Yoga pants to go out in public in.
Anything with a stretchy waist will do.
what you don't want is a zipper or anything on your front - that's the most important part. The softer the front is, the more comfortable you will be.

Re: what to wear when your clothes don't fit?
I have bought a few sundresses for the days I want to get dressed up- a friend also recommended I get a couple of maternity jeans/capris/shorts, which I did ( one of each) in case I want to wear pants. I am having a long vertical incision, so I have to be careful on anything at my waist & these will all avoid that area. Otherwise, at home I will be in my nightgowns for a few weeks.

Re: what to wear when your clothes don't fit?
I wore pajama pants around the house during my recovery, if I had to go out of the house I wore lounge pants, At about 5 weeks when I started feeling better I went shopping for new pants, and I ended up buying some maternity pants, they were the only pants that fit me and my swelly belly. The panel feels good on the belly and there are no zippers or buttons. I do wear the abdominal binder. I am 7 weeks post op and still have swelly belly. Also I bought high waisted panties 1 size bigger than I normally wear. I am still wearing them they are the only ones that fit. I did have an abdominal incision so I have alot of swelling still. I also wore yoga pants very comfortable to. Anything without a zipper or button would be comfortable, just allow them to be a little bigger because you don't want anything too tight by your stomach it is very uncomfortable.

Re: what to wear when your clothes don't fit?
I have been wearing sweats (with drawstrings rather than elastic waists) and scrub pants (they are my favorite). I went to the local goodwill and bought up as many pairs as I could find. I am almost 6 weeks post op and still can't get into my jeans.
Good luck with your procedure.

Re: what to wear when your clothes don't fit?
I was really caught off guard when I could not fit into my clothes and my doc said no zippers for 6 weeks. Honestly, for 3 weeks I wore PJs and stuff cause I was just at the house. And, my yoga pants too. Then, I chose to get matching jacket and pant sets (like track/running sets) so that I could use them to fly and etc. after this is all done. But, this past weekend, I went to Macy's sale and bought a pair of capri khakis and capri jeans in a size larger than I usually wear. I have gone back to work at week 6 and really get the swelly belly by the end of the day. They start out baggy but by the end of the day I am swollen and they are big enough not to hurt me. So, I figure I will be wearing them for at least a few more weeks. Sun dresses are nice but since I do not wear them often, I chose the other route. hope that helps

oversized sweat pants (w/ draw string); t-shirts; also nightshirts. When I got back to work I wore my largest size pants and by end of day swelly belly was making them feel tight.
